Finding My Passion for Photography đ¸
Hey there lovely readers (and maybe a few future photographers too)!
Letâs talk about what it really takes to be a photographer. You might be thinking â is it about owning an expensive camera, or mastering fancy photo edits? Not quite! In my opinion, the two most important ingredients are passion and skills. Without those, no amount of gear can make the magic happen.
So, what drives you to pick up a camera or start a creative journey? Iâd love to hear your thoughts â drop them in the comments below! đŹ
Funny thing is, for me, the skills came before the passion. I know â that sounds backwards, right? When I was younger, my older sister would always ask me to take pictures of her (she was the fashionista of the family!). At the time, it honestly felt like a chore. And trust me, our âequipmentâ wasnât helping â weâre talking about those old âbrick phonesâ with tiny screens, zero resolution, and absolutely no editing tools. Not exactly the dream setup for a photoshoot! đ
But little did I know, those early moments were my first steps into the world of photography.
From Hobby to Profession: My Photography JourneyÂ
As the years went by, my photography skills started to grow â it became a fun hobby alongside my full-time job in childcare. I never thought it would turn into a career, especially one that would lead me to become a female photographer in Bradford, capturing wedding photoshoots, bridal portraits, and so many special moments for amazing couples.
When my daughter was born, thatâs when everything changed. I started taking photos of her on my phone, dressing her up, teaching her cute little poses, and editing the pictures just for fun. Thatâs when I truly fell in love with the art of photography. What began as a few simple mobile snapshots turned into a deep creative passion â and eventually, Quick Qlick Photography was born.
If youâve read my blog âOnce Upon a Time Behind Quick Qlick Photography,â you already know how that story unfolds â but itâs still one of my favourite journeys to look back on.
A Little Note for Aspiring PhotographersÂ
Whether youâre just starting your first photoshoot or dreaming of running your own wedding photography business, remember this: passion and skill will always take you further than any piece of equipment ever could. Practice, experiment, and find joy in the process â thatâs where the magic really happens.
And if youâre ever in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and looking to collaborate on a bridal photoshoot, couple session, or even a creative studio shoot, Iâd love to connect and bring your vision to life. đ
