My Journey into Wedding Photography
Hello, my lovely readers! I’m so excited to share a little insight into how my journey into wedding photography began — and how it became one of the most rewarding parts of my career as an award-winning female photographer based in Bradford.
Believe it or not, when I first started Quick Qlick Photography, weddings weren’t even on my radar! My focus was on creative photoshoots — from adorable newborn sessions to fun-filled family portraits. I also covered a few small, intimate events, but when it came to big venues and large crowds… I’ll admit, the thought alone made me nervous. Even though I had inquiries for big weddings, I just didn’t feel ready yet.
Then, life — and fate — gave me the nudge I needed.
The Turning Point
A close school friend was getting married and reached out with a special request. I can still hear her words clearly:
“My father has hired someone already, but I’ve made it clear — I want YOU to do my wedding photography.”
How could I possibly say no to that?
That one heartfelt request changed everything. I agreed to photograph her wedding — and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and emotional experiences of my career. The energy, the details, the laughter, the tears — it all reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. From that moment, I knew that wedding photography wasn’t just something I could do — it was something I was meant to do.
Now, weddings have become my absolute favourite part of my work. There’s something truly magical about capturing real moments of love, joy, and celebration that couples can treasure forever. Every wedding is different, and every story deserves to be told with heart and creativity.
How I Work with My Wedding Clients
When a couple books me for their big day, I always start with a personal touch — either a friendly face-to-face meeting or a detailed phone call. This allows me to understand their vision and plan out the flow of their special day.
We’ll chat about everything from their preferred photography style to key moments they don’t want to miss — whether it’s the emotional first look, the laughter-filled group shots, or those quiet, candid moments in between. As a female wedding photographer, I know how important it is to make my clients feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
I truly believe that great wedding photography isn’t just about taking beautiful pictures — it’s about understanding the couple, their story, and the emotions behind every moment.
