How My Photography Journey Began
Hey there, lovely readers — and a huge warm welcome to those joining me on this new blogging adventure! This is officially my first ever blog post, and I couldn’t be more excited to share how my passion for photography truly began.
Believe it or not, I wasn’t always the confident, camera-loving person I am today. Back in school, I was that quiet kid who barely spoke up — hard to imagine now, because once I start talking, I just can’t stop!
Growing up, photography became my secret language — my way of expressing what I couldn’t always put into words. I loved capturing people, places, and little everyday moments that felt special. But being in front of the camera? No chance! I always preferred being behind the lens, where the real magic happens.
At the time, I never imagined I’d become a professional photographer. It was just a hobby — something that made me happy. You know that feeling when something seems too big to dream about? That was me. I’d look at incredible photographers and think, “Yeah right, dream on!”
The Moment That Changed Everything
Life took me on a completely different path for a while. I built a career in another field, got married to an amazing man, and became a proud mum to a beautiful daughter. But then came one unforgettable day that changed everything — my birthday.
Out of nowhere, my husband handed me a huge wrapped box. Inside was a DSLR camera and a portable studio kit. I was speechless. He smiled and said, “I know how much you love photography — now’s your chance to make something of it.”
Turning Dreams into Reality
That moment hit me like a rush of excitement and nerves all at once — you know that feeling where you’re ready to take on the world, but your heart’s racing a mile a minute? Yep, that was me!
In that instant, the spark inside me turned into a full-blown flame. That gift wasn’t just a camera — it was a wake-up call, a reminder that dreams aren’t meant to stay dreams. With my husband’s love, belief, and endless encouragement, that old “dream on” mindset quickly transformed into “go chase your dreams.”
And that’s exactly what I did. That moment marked the beginning of my journey as a professional photographer — and the birth of Quick Qlick Photography.
I’ll forever be grateful for the handful of incredible people who have supported me from day one — the ones who saw my potential long before I did. Their encouragement has shaped not only my career but also my passion for storytelling through photography.
