making sure Your special day is remembered the same way
Hello my fellow readers! This blog is all about wedding photography. Believe it or not, I didn’t do wedding photography when I initially started this business. My forte was photoshoots. From Newborn photoshoots to Family photoshoots were the services I provided. I did small intimate events but I was far too nervous for events in big venues even though I had enquiries for them.
Things took a turn for the better when my school friend was getting married and requested me to do wedding photography for her. I still remember her words ”My father has hired someone already but I’ve already made it clear, I want YOU to do my wedding photography.” I couldn’t say no to her after that! Since then I have enjoyed doing wedding photography and to be honest, it is now the preferred job out of all the services I provide!
Once a client has decided to go ahead with a booking, I usually arrange a face to face meeting or phone call to discuss the clients needs and what will be happening for the hours they would like to hire me. This helps me to understand in depth of what their vision of the special day looks like. This is also the best time for clients to share what kind of photos they would like me to take on the day of the event.
I am more than just a photographer on my clients special day. I emotionally and physically support my clients, manage the event and even delegate other professionals as and when needed. I do not charge more for carrying out multiple roles in my job. The reason is because I understand that most clients rely on my guidance and experience in this field to be able to trust my judgment and skills, whether it is their own first wedding or seventh family wedding.
As a photographer, it is first and foremost important to respect every tradition and rituals at each wedding event. If the client expects you take pictures of those moments, then it is a necessity for you to capture them. That is what makes it more memorable! The clients are trusting you with such an important job for their special day. They cannot dress up and re-do their big day. It has to be done in the moment, no retakes! As a female wedding photographer, it is safe to say I take my job seriously and feel obliged to understand my clients needs. I have said this many times already ”If you are not happy with my service, there is no point of me doing this job.”
