The ''Once upon a time'' behind Quick Qlick Photography
Greetings to all the lovely readers who have decided to join my blogging journey, this being the first! Today I just want to talk about what drove my passion in photography. I come from a very complex background and believe it or not I was the quiet kid in school but now I don’t know when to shut up!
So growing up, the one way I could express myself was through taking photos. I mainly took photos of places and people. I hated being in a photo, I would always prefer to be on the other side of the camera! I never saw myself as someone who would do this professionally as it was more of a hobby for me. Have you ever thought of something that felt impossible to achieve so you thought to yourself ”Dream on!”? Yeah, that’s how I felt about it unfortunately.
As time went on, I took a different career path but little did I know at the time, it is something that it will count towards my profession today. I got married to such an amazing man and had a beautiful daughter. Fast forward 18 months later, (now this is one of the days of my life I could never forget) on my birthday, my husband surprised me with something I was genuinely not expecting….
He presented a DSLR and a portable studio kit and said ”I have realised how much you love photography, now this is your chance to make something of it”. I had no words, I felt excited but nervous at the same time…like you want to kick ass but you’ve just been punched in the gut at the same time! I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for the support of my darling husband who helped that ”Dream on” attitude change to a ”Go and chase your dreams” attitude.
And that’s what drove my passion in this profession and Quick Qlick Photography was born. I am very thankful for the amazing love and support I have had from the handful of people to get me where I am today.
My blogs will be based mainly around tips and tricks, tutorials and story telling. I would also like to know if there is anything that you would like me to share on this platform. Feedback is always important for me considering this is all for the readers, learners and more than anything the passionate people who have the same driven passion as me in photography!
I also want to thank you for reading this blog, I hope it didn’t put you to sleep! I am looking forward to seeing you in my next blog.
That’s a wrap!
