Team work, definitely makes the dream work!
Hi Readers! Thank you for your patience as this blog took longer to post than planned!
So for anyone who is unfamiliar about what a collaboration is, it’s a few professionals who come together to create a project for business purposes like the one I organised. Our aim was to expand our portfolios and create social media content. It is so important to ensure that skills and quality of each professional, including your own, are shining through every image and video. Your target audience will rate your work regardless of your own opinion, so you’ve got be ready for positive and negative criticism.
You may already be aware of a collaboration with two other AMAZING professionals which took place at a small venue in Bradford called Kashmiri Aroma. The moment I saw this venue, I instantly knew which professionals I would love to collaborate with. I envisioned a soft glam with a gown look which would tie in beautifully with the stage at the venue. I have also been eager to do portrait photos of my envisioned look outdoors in Lister Park, Bradford. I was aware the Muse is naturally beautiful so something on the subtle side would be perfect, although, as photographers/videographers are aware, make up needs to have a little UMPH to show up in the shots clearly.
Anam Khan MUA
Anam used her expertise to ensure the make-up was visible enough for the camera which she delivered flawlessly! She did a soft glam look with glittery eyes and a natural shade of pink for the lips. She was also able to touch up and enhance the makeup during the photoshoot, as and when needed. She used lashes to provide the UMPH and styled the MUSE’s hair independently. Anam had a few hurdles on the day prior to the photoshoot but was able to continue with her work professionally.
Chandy MUSE
Chandy did her poses gracefully as required and was able to follow instructions upon request without hesitation. Chandy brought her own gown therefore we didn’t need to add designers in the collaboration. It was such a beautiful elegant pastel blue with silver work, puffy from the hip below, which created a little bounce when she walked. She was new to this profession, so I guided her from time to time. Sometimes, a photographer’s job is more than just clicking away!
The Locations
The first part of the photoshoot was at the venue. The stage had a lovely floral themed décor which looked amazing overall with the look for this collaboration. This must be the typical female photographer in me, but I absolutely love a girly/glamour look! The second part of the photoshoot was in a few different areas of Lister Park, Bradford. I was eager to get some shots in the garden area, flower area, and gazebo. I came to this park a few days before the shoot so I could plan ahead. Yes, I am just a super organised photographer!
Videography
As you all are aware I am a professional photographer, I have never given videography a try even though I have had plenty of requests from clients. I am proud to say that I gave videography a try and officially posted my first few videos on my Quick Quick Photography TikTok account I created for you guys as well my other social media platforms. I am going to be honest and say that, although I enjoyed seeing the end results, the process of planning and creating the shots were not the easiest part! I would love to practice more and delve deeper into it. This collaboration genuinely inspired a few people to give Photography/videography a try. Some have already purchased equipment! I’m glad to know that I was able to help and support others the same way they have done for me.
Phoenix Pixel Studios
A few days later a representative from Phoenix Pixel Studios edited my videos. Now, I will be honest and say that the videos would have not been THIS good without Harry’s help. I had some shots where I struggled with stability but Harry managed to sort that out for me and created a flawless video! Thank you for your patience and amazing skills!
I definitely enjoyed my first collaboration. It was a very laid back and a relaxed experience. I would definitely work with the two professionals in the future so keep a look out, there may be more amazing pictures and videos for you guys to check out. Thank you for the support and for reading this blog. I just had to share my experience with you and please feel free to share your experience.
